Congregational Workshops

Michael’s Congregational Workshops offer a safe, engaging environment for congregants to explore their spiritual journeys. With in-depth discussions and practical takeaways, these workshops aim to strengthen bonds within the congregation while fostering a deeper understanding of faith.

Postmodern Deconstrution

Postmodernism, for me, isn’t a wrecking ball—it’s a set of careful tools. I use it to help people gently deconstruct faith or any long‑held belief by asking better questions: Which story shaped this idea? Who benefits from it? What evidence supports it—and what challenges it?

We examine “grand narratives” and inherited certainties with humility, not cynicism, and we name the difference between fear‑based dogma and life‑giving wisdom.

Deconstruction is only half the journey. Reconstruction draws on more informed ideas: historical‑critical study, scientific insights, lived experience, and the ethical demands of community. We test claims against compassion and consequences. We give permission for complexity while building a coherent, durable framework—one that can hold paradox, evolve with new data, and still guide daily practice.

In conversation, I provide psychologically safe spaces and structured inquiry—curiosity over combat, clarity over certainty. The outcome is a faith (or worldview) that is lighter, truer, and more accountable to reality and to our neighbors. It’s not about losing belief; it’s about gaining integrity.
