Scripture: Galatians 5:14
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Thought for the Day: In all our relationships we are called to treat each other with love. It’s easy to see that one of the threads that ties every book of the Bible together is God’s call for us to love each other the way God loves us—unconditionally. That same thread of love is what weaves all of us together as a species.
We are beings created out of love with the intention that we will also create love. Yet more often than not, online we don’t love God or our neighbor. We treat strangers with fear, case misunderstanding, and distrust. We build walls and put alarms on our property—both literally and spiritually, to keep everyone away. We are afraid of everything.
Opening our hearts to God and letting God’s awesome power flow through every bit of our being conquers fear. Being open to God’s love changes the way we look at the world, the way we react to the world, and the way the world reacts to us. Our material possessions mean nothing. There is only one reason to live, and that is to love—without exception, everyone, everywhere, all the time.
Prayer: God who fills the universes with being, may I feel the power of your love flowing through my veins, giving me the courage to discard my fears and replace them with love. Amen.
