Scripture: Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, online joy, cialis sale peace, discount patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Thought for the Day: In many of his letters, Paul contrasts a Spirit-led life with a purely physical existence. Of course, humans have no choice but to lead physical lives. But in Christ, Paul understood that we are all more than our physical selves; that the Christ is at work in the entirety of our being.
Paul saw sin as an imbalance of the physical and spiritual natures of our lives. When our lives are consumed by the material world, when we’re only focused on our selves, our bodies, our jobs, our houses and cars, then in Paul’s language, we are being consumed by sin.
But when our lives lean toward the Spirit, we become more concerned with patience, peace, gentleness towards others, compassion and understanding. We’re always going to be human (in this reality, anyway), but we can start living up to our potential by embracing God’s gift of the Holy Spirit within each and every one of us. All it takes is a little soul searching.
Prayer: Most merciful God, help me become more aware of your Spirit working within me. May I become more compassionate, understanding, peaceful and patient every day. Amen.
