Thought for the Day: There are certain places where I find it easy to find rest with God, to feel secure and at peace. Museums are like that for me, especially art museums. Sometimes simply quietly escaping into an incredible work of art connects me with the Divine presence in a very physical way.

Although this passage from Isaiah could be read literally, I like to think that the peaceful dwelling places are those moments we find when our lives have been completely taken over by God. They’re often unexpected, but they remind us that there is a loving presence in the universe that has our backs. We can be secure in the knowledge that, no matter how it looks to us, there is something greater and ultimately amazingly beautiful at work within all of us, and throughout the world.

Prayer: Inspiring God, may you help me find your loving presence, and find my rest in you, in unexpected places, and in unexpected ways. Amen.
