Scripture: Psalm 31:9
Be merciful to me, look Lord, viagra for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and body with grief.

Thought for the Day: Do you think the rain is God weeping over the horrible things we do to each other? I know all our hearts are broken over the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado. And I believe that as much as this sort of cold, calculated event grieves us, it breaks God’s heart even more.

However, it’s often in our grief when we cry out to God most passionately, and reflect upon our nature most deeply. In the Old Testament, Israel is exiled and invaded over and over again. Yet, each invasion helps them reignite their faith in God. Every obstacle reinforces their obedience to God’s loving laws.

Eventually, may those families, whose lives will never be the same, and whose sorrow we can never fully understand, find at least some comfort in the knowledge that around the world, we all grieve with them, as God weeps for all of us.

Prayer: Compassionate Spirit, forgive us our sins, against each other, and also against you. Amen.
