Scripture: Ecclesiastes 8:9 (TNIV)
All this I saw, sale as I applied my mind to everything done under the sun. There is a time when a man lords it over others to his own hurt.

Thought for the Day: As the Senate gathers, patient it’s a chilly day in Rome, sildenafil overcast, the air heavy with moisture not quite able to turn into rain. But there is a thunderstorm forming. The disagreeable atmosphere only heightens tensions in an already disagreeable body of public representatives, waiting for their presiding magistrate, Julius Caesar.

When Caesar finally walks through the senate doors, the men attack, brutally. Caesar is stabbed in the upper shoulder, and then slashed across the face. He tries to fight back, but is overpowered and outnumbered. When the frenzy is over, Caesar is dead on the senate floor, 35 stab wounds piercing his body.

The Senators hurry out of the chamber, unwittingly having just created the very Empire they thought Caesar’s death would avoid, catapulting Rome into a bloody civil war along the way.

Prayer: Help me remember, Lord, that whether I am a prince or a pauper, I am ultimately still a servant to you, our most Holy God. When I attempt to take matters into my own hands, and work only through my own arrogance, it is likely things will not turn out the way I expected. Keep me honest, Dear God. Keep me honest. Amen.
