Scripture: Proverbs 13:4 (NRSV)
The appetite of the lazy craves, advice and gets nothing, thumb while the appetite of the diligent is richly supplied.

Thought for the Day: Time management. It seems as each day goes by that our lives become busier and more hectic. When we manage our daily schedules, do we allow for some spiritual time? It’s easy to neglect our spiritual time management when we’re so busy simply trying to make ends meet and providing for our loved ones.

Part of spiritual time management is recognizing opportunities to commune with God when they arise. I think the key to spiritual time management is recognizing that every opportunity in our lives is a spiritual opportunity. Whether we’re washing the dishes, grocery shopping, studying, or creating a spreadsheet at the office, we can seek God’s presence. There isn’t anything we do that can’t be an opportunity to go to God, and when we go to God, there isn’t anything we can’t do.

Prayer: God whose existence is beyond time and space, help me become aware of spiritual time, those moments when I consciously connect with your presence. Amen.
