Scripture: Romans 8:14
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
Thought for the Day: As children we are (usually) open to the lessons taught us by our parents. My parents taught me everything from the basics, for sale like brushing my teeth and showering (everyone thanks you for that lesson, Mom and Dad!), but they also instilled in me a lifelong love of learning. Children are generally more flexible when it comes to being led by their parents.
Although we all grow up and grow old, that doesn’t mean we can’t retain the childlike quality of being led through a learning experience. When we think of ourselves as children of God, it’s an opportunity for us to let the Spirit lead us through an incredible journey, spanning the entirety of our lives, teaching us lesson after lesson about what it means to be a human in constant connection with the Divine. It’s an awesome journey that changes the outlook of our lives from focused on what we can do for ourselves, to focused on what we can do for others.
Prayer: May you always instill within me a childlike thirst for knowledge, God who is all knowledge. Amen.
