Scripture: Luke 15:31
“My son, clinic ” the father said, viagra “you are always with me, decease and everything I have is yours.”

Thought for the Day: This might be the most powerful idea in the Bible, perhaps in all of spiritual literature. In this parable, Jesus makes clear that his mission here is not to be exalted as a unique being through whom all people must bow to God. This single line sums up Jesus’ entire ministry, everything he thinks theologically: God is always with us—every single human on the planet, and everything God has is ours. Everything. All of God’s love, abundance, compassion; God’s sense of justice and righteousness—these are all gifts within every human as well, just waiting to take root and blossom. Jesus shows us this idealized state of being and asks us to join him. Jesus asks us to spiritually evolve, or more specifically, to let God open our consciousness to a radical new reality.

With the disciples, Jesus tried to create a community of people who resisted the ways of the world and focused instead on God’s universal love. Jesus’ ministry was open to everyone, regardless of social standing, gender or ethnicity. Jesus didn’t play favorites. He lost his temper with people who tried to pigeonhole his ideas, and he lambasted the establishment of his era for creating a society that allowed the minority wealthy class to run roughshod over everyone else. This in stark contrast to God, who directly told his chosen people to share everything with each other, the way Jesus clearly states in this parable that God shares everything with all of us.

God is with us. With ALL of us. The liberating power of God flows through our souls. The perverted power elite would like to keep us enslaved to consumerism. But today, let’s let Jesus remind us that God is with us. As we all start awakening to a higher consciousness, to the more enlightened being that lives within us, we can topple the empire. And when the empire does finally fall, may we have the wisdom to recreate society in the image of a loving, compassionate, just and sharing God, rather than in the image of Mammon.

Prayer: I know you work hard within us, Holy God, but can you step on the gas a little bit? This wonderful creation is coming apart at the seams. Help us awaken to our natural, Christ-like way of being, so love, social equality, and compassion become the rule of the day. Amen.
