Scripture: Proverbs 8:4
“To you, shop O people, I call out;
I raise my voice to all humankind.

Thought for the Day: There was a heavy fog that made the mossy forest floor bounce as I walked. I peered through the dense foliage and tried to see between the heavy branches of the Ginkgo trees, but their leaves, thick and yellow as fall turned to winter, blocked my view. I heard a voice calling, “Follow me, Takakura. Come here!” I knew this forest could play tricks on you. We’d played here since childhood, and now that I was an adult, I walked through the forest several times a week. It was a magical place. Some of the trees were nearly 500 years old. I often imagined them talking to me, but today, there really was a voice. Was someone lost in the forest? Maybe they were hurt. I called out, but the only response I received was “Follow me.”

“Follow who? Follow you where? I can’t even see you!” I called out, somewhat frustrated. Maybe one of my old friends or coworkers was playing a trick on me. Not thinking anything of it, I continued walking.

“Follow me,” the voice urged.

To be continued…

Prayer: Help me see the beauty around me, even when my eyes and mind are foggy, God who creates all beauty, and clarifies all thought. Amen.
