Quote of the Day: It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength. –Maya Angelou

Thought for the Day:  Humanity is a glorious, discount masterful avant-garde amalgamation, mind resilient yet fragile, no rx curious and cautious, compassionate and cruel. We pass these traits through generations, normally without a second thought. We become who we were, or what who we were thinks we ought to be, in a cyclical rhythm that pulses to nowhere, our deep capacity for cruelty ever more emphasized. We have fallen asleep in this cycle.

Where are our conscious thoughts? When do we take an accounting of our actions, our thoughts, our (mis)deeds? When do we awaken? When do we feel God gently nudging our souls from slumber? “Wake up! Wake up!” We hear the gentle voice, its whispers sweetly melting through our souls. This is when God moves us to see the world differently. God whispers us into new existence, with new eyes to see with wonder, and a new heart to love thunderously. Awake, we teach love and compassion, respect for all God’s creation (and it’s all God’s creation), cooperation, and the unconditional love and acceptance God so graciously grants every human on the planet, no exceptions.

Prayer: Move me to spread the love today, Holy God, to all my brothers and sisters—everyone on the planet an amazing brushstroke on your self-portrait. Amen.
