Scripture: Psalm 42:5
Why, buy cialis my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

Thought for the Day: Discovered in the journal of a 15-year-old girl named Samsara, who lived sometime around 190 CE.

“I talked to the Rabbi today. I have so many questions! He told me I ask too many questions for a girl. ‘Why don’t I sew? Why don’t I shear the sheep? Why don’t I do this or that?’ And HE said I ask too many questions? Lord, help me! I reminded him, I am an adult! We had a good laugh at that, because of course Rabbi has known me from birth, like most of us in the village. He says as soon as the midwife delivered me I looked at him and asked, ‘Why am I here?’ He calls me his ‘unusual girl,’ which I suppose lots of people would find offensive, but I like being unusual.

He’s a good person, our Rabbi. He helped our family when the land started to run dry. He and the elders have held us all together, really. I’m surprised more of us haven’t left for the green pastures nearer Hebron. We’ve lost many families to the plague, in one way or another.”

To be continued…

Prayer: Save us O Lord, for our hope is placed in you. Amen.
