Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:17
But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

Thought for the Day: When I wake up and discover two Mosques were attacked, ambulance it puts a damper on my day. It’s heinous enough that humans feel the need to destroy each other. But to attack another person in their place of worship seems a most pernicious and cowardly act. Innocent people, store attempting to find connection with the divine in a place that could definitely use more divine presence, were blown up simply because some other people didn’t like their brand of worship. Seriously? Isn’t this the 21st Century? When I went to bed last night, did I wake up in 1146? To presume we know better than another—about anything, is the worst form of hubris.

I’ll be the first one to admit I don’t know everything. In fact, these Daily Wonder columns are often simply my internal conversations made public (sorry). I don’t think I have any ultimate answers to life’s deep and mysterious questions. Like most of you, I have conclusions about existence, God, science, etc., that I’ve drawn from study, experience, inspiration and intuition, but I would never say I have THE answers for anybody else, or demand that everyone get in line with what I think about life, the universe and everything. I just want people to start thinking about what they believe, say, and do, rather than going through life like automatons, waiting for someone else to push their next button. Having your buttons pushed is no way to go through life. Of course, that’s just my opinion.

Prayer: If anyone is going to push my buttons, Lord let it be you, and please, start pressing the button that says “compassion” more often, will you? Amen.
